Harris wrote to Congressman Carl Albert regarding the payment to the Choctaws and Chickasaws for the sale of their coal lands to the government. She has been waiting for this payment for many years and is glad that it is finally going to be settled. Congressman Albert informed her that the living enrolled members will be paid first and checks will be mailed out by the Superintendent of the Five Civilized Tribes Agency in July. Mrs. Harris expressed her frustration and mentioned that she has been waiting for this payment since 1914.</dc:description></oai_dc:dc>
