- Northeastern Oklahoma State University is requesting funding to continue their Indian Teacher-Indian Child Program, which has significantly improved education for Indian students in northeast Oklahoma. The program, previously funded by the Education Professions Development Act, is now seeking funding from the Indian Education Act. The university and the Cherokee Nation have developed a proposal for this purpose. Senator Dewey Bartlett and Dr. William Demmert are being asked to support and consider the application for funding.
