Bartlett of Oklahoma announced that he will hold congressional hearings on Indian housing programs during the August recess. The hearings will take place in Muskogee on August 6 and in Anadarko on August 7. Bartlett, the ranking minority member of the Indian Affairs Subcommittee, hopes to gather testimony from tribal leaders and housing authority representatives to develop a major housing act for the Indian people. Representatives from several tribes are expected to attend the hearings. Bartlett's recent fact-finding mission to Somalia caused the hearings to be rescheduled from the July 4th recess to the August recess. He will be available for interviews before each of the hearings.</dc:description></oai_dc:dc>
