- Mrs. C. O. Phillips is seeking information about her great grandfather, Lige Williams, who was a Cherokee Indian. She contacted Congressman Page Belcher for assistance, who forwarded her inquiry to the Bureau of Indian Affairs. The Bureau advised her to contact their Area Director in Muskogee, Oklahoma for further information as her great grandfather's name does not appear on the approved roll of the Cherokee Nation. Congressman John Jarman also offered his assistance in finding information about her great grandfather.
