Belcher forwarded her request to the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Muskogee, but they were unable to locate any information on her mother. The Bureau suggested contacting the Muskogee Area office for more information. The Bureau also mentioned that the Cherokee Nation's claims were being prosecuted before the Indian Claims Commission, and there was no authority to add names to the Cherokee Roll. Belcher reassured Mrs. Bateman that he would continue to investigate and provide updates as soon as he received more information.</dc:description></oai_dc:dc>
