- Mrs. Dickerson wrote to Congresswoman Helen Gahagan Douglas seeking help for her husband, Private First Class George W. Dickerson, who had been convicted of Grand Theft and faced a Bad Conduct Discharge. Mrs. Dickerson believed her husband was not mentally responsible for his actions and needed medical attention. She had also contacted Congressman Lewis Ludlow for assistance. Congresswoman Douglas expressed sympathy for the situation and assured Mrs. Dickerson of her support and cooperation in resolving the case.
