- Description:
- OSHA has proposed new safety measures for grain handling facilities in the United States to reduce risks of fire and explosion. The proposed standard includes requirements for dust control, emergency action plans, employee training, equipment maintenance, and means of egress. The standard aims to reduce deaths and injuries by more than 50 percent and save millions of dollars in property damage annually. Comments on the proposed standard are being accepted until March 9, 1984.
