- Description:
- Mrs. Owings wrote a letter stating that she was denied access to public health services due to her marriage to a non-Indian. The response from the Indian Health Area Office confirmed that she was ineligible for care at Indian Health facilities, but mentioned that under certain circumstances she may be eligible. Mrs. Owings was advised to provide further information if she believes she is eligible for care. Senator Monroney also acknowledged Mrs. Owings' letter and promised to look into the matter further.
