- Description:
- George B. Schwabe, a member of the House of Representatives, introduced a bill (H.R. 4064) to prohibit compulsory service in any occupation forces for members of the armed forces who served overseas during World War II. Schwabe wrote to Andrew J. May, the Chairman of the Committee on Military Affairs, asking about any scheduled hearings and expressing his desire to offer testimony in support of the bill. The bill exempts members of the Regular Military or Naval Establishment from this prohibition.
