Turner expresses concern that the land is being sold at its 1912 appraised value without consideration for the additional value the timber has gained over the years. He also raises objections to the lack of reservation of mineral rights and alleges that the government has neglected and allowed unauthorized removal of timber from the land. Turner requests a postponement of the sale until an investigation and adjustment of the timber removal has been made, and until mineral rights are reserved. Senator Thomas assures Turner that he will do what he can to help and is cooperating with Chief Durant of the Choctaw Tribe for the benefit of Indian citizens.";
