Senator Thomas agreed to cooperate and suggested contacting Senator Donnie Chaves, who represents New Mexico and is a member of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs. A copy of the letter was also sent to Sam Houser, another member of the Apache tribe in Oklahoma.
