- Description:
- John B. Connally was born in Floresville, Texas in 1917. He attended the University of Texas and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After the war, he worked in various positions, including as Secretary of the Navy and Governor of Texas. He also served as Secretary of the Treasury under President Nixon. Connally later resumed his law practice and ran for the Republican nomination for President in 1979. He was involved in various professional associations and advisory boards throughout his career.
