He believes that the proposed rule would negatively impact employees and retirees who have contributed to paying for their fringe benefits and life insurance. Churchwell expresses concern that the proposed rule would make it hard for employees and retirees to afford group life insurance and hospital benefits, and that it would put a burden on families in case of death or extended illness. He requests that the Department of Labor withdraw the proposed regulation.
